Two California Chamber of Commerce staff members are part of the speaker line-up for a national conference on unemployment insurance (UI) issues on June 17–19 in San Diego.
CalChamber President and CEO Allan Zaremberg will welcome attendees and moderate a review of the economy and its impact on unemployment at the National UI Issues Conference.
CalChamber policy advocate Marti Fisher will be a panelist at two sessions focusing on marijuana, drug testing and UI eligibility.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the creation of the national UI program.
Other sessions at the conference will include: updates on the national UI program and legislation; most effective ways to identify fraud and avoid overpayments; combating identity theft; UI and the new Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act; best practices in UI claims adjudication and appeals; best practices in assessing re-employment eligibility and re-employment services; and managing benefits charges to employer accounts.
