CalChamber President and CEO Jennifer Barrera was cited as a top influencer on an annual list of who’s who in California politics.

Barrera ranked as No. 10 on the Top 100 list announced by Capitol Weekly, an independent online news organization. The outlet’s editors make their selections from among those who are involved in state policy and politics but aren’t elected to public office. The annual ranking began in 2009.

The news outlet cited Barrera for “her incredible blend of grit, political smarts, team building, strategic skills and from-the-ground-up knowledge of policy and its impact on industries big and small.”

“In short,” they wrote, “if legislation or a ballot measure or a regulation or even a strong breeze might negatively affect the business community, Barerra and the CalChamber are ready. She is adept at threading the needle on complex high-stakes issues, both in policy terms and satisfying a diverse and demanding membership.”
